Carolyn Wills of Ashville enjoys spending time with her granddaughter, Angel Trexler.

Description: ‘‘As Pontiac was entrenched in the muscle car wars of the mid-’60s with the introduction of the GTO and the Firebird, the often overlooked ‘wide-track’ full-sized Pontiacs of the same era offered some of the best handling and style of the decade.

“With engines starting at 389 cubic inch and ranging up to 421 and 428 cubic inch, these large Pontiacs typically offered tremendous performance, despite their heavy curb weights, acres of chrome and luxurious appointments.

“This particular Bonneville is a close to top-of-the-line Pontiac specimen for 1966, as it is a Bonneville convertible featuring a 389 ci V-8, automatic transmission, power top and optional reverb stereo system. We had this car shipped in from California in the early 1970s, and since it only has 53,000 original miles, my granddaughter, Angel (Trexler), and I plan to enjoy it for many more years to come.’’
